OVERVIEW

Experience the beauty of Mount Elgon’s dramatic landscapes on the Sipi Falls Hike, a guided half-day adventure that takes you to the three main waterfalls of Sipi. Known for its lush cliffs, coffee plantations, and panoramic vistas, this hike combines light exercise with breathtaking scenery, making it ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

DETAILED itinerary

The Experience The hike begins at the trailhead near Sipi Village, where your local guide provides an overview of the terrain, flora, and cultural significance of the waterfalls. The trail winds through rolling hills, terraced farms, and coffee plantations, offering glimpses into local agricultural life and stunning views of the surrounding valleys.
The journey takes you to the first waterfall, where water cascades dramatically into a natural pool below, perfect for photos and reflection. Continuing on, you reach the second and third waterfalls, each with its own unique features — from sheer cliffs to narrow plunging streams.

Along the way, your guide points out native plants, birdlife, and the geological features that make the area so special. The moderate hike involves some uphill and downhill sections but remains accessible for those with average fitness levels.
