It includes a visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a guided forest trek in Budongo Forest (Murchison Falls National Park), and chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. DETAILED itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe Arrival at Entebbe international airport and you will be welcomed by your safari guide. Depending on your time of arrival. You may have an optional city tour of Entebbe town. Entebbe was the colonialists administrative center and has many buildings that date over half a century ago. You may also choose to visit Entebbe botanical gardens Accommodation Airport Guest House Day 2: Ngamba Island Sail to Ngamba Island, which is home to orphaned chimpanzees. The transfer takes approximately an hour. The Chimpanzees are the biggest attraction on Ngamba Island. Visiting Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is considered one of the leading primate sanctuaries in Africa. You will receive personal attention from an internationally trained staff and observe the 49 Chimpanzee residents up close and personal from a raised viewing platform that provides a full view of their behaviour and intentions. You will have an opportunity to feed the chimps and assume caretaker roles.Accommodation: Ngamba Island Cottages Day 3: Budongo Forest Via Zziwa Rhinos Sanctuary Ziwa is a home to the remaining rhino's in the country after the animals were extinct in the wilderness. You track the rhinos and visit the information centre and craft shop. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary offers peace and tranquillity in beautiful surroundings. After lunch, you will resume your journey to Budongo Forest. Budongo Forest is the biggest Mahogany Forest found in the whole of east Africa as well as habitat to a large number of chimpanzees. You will drive to your accommodation inside the forest.Accommodation: Budongo Eco - Lodge Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in budongo, drive to Hoima Wake for a trek as you head out to track the Chimpanzees and a wonderful forest experience. The major tourist sites within this forest are: the Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourism site andBusingiro Ecotourism site. There after you will drive to Hoima.Accommodation: Hoima Cultural Lodge. Day 5: Drive to Fort portal Drive through the verdant country side , traditional homesteads and farms . Fort portal rests in the shadows of the fabled mountains of the Moon. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and tea fields along the way. You can make a stop at some tea plantations and interact with tea pickers. Accommodation: Kluges Guest Farm. Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk Drive to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzees trekking Experience. The park is also home for 10 other primate including I'hoestes, Red Colobus, blue, red tailed and gray cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but on all the forest fauna and flora, the ranger will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. You will have lunch at a local restaurant in Bigodi Community that serves local food. In the Afternoon you will take a guided walk to Bigodi swamp, a haven for hundred of birds species and other primates. It is a community tourism initiative that is led by local guides. The guided 4.5 Km circular trail through the swamp is also one of the best guided bird trails in East Africa as well as offering a realistic opportunity to see up to six different primate species in a space of a few hours.Accommodation: Kluges Guest Farm. Day 7: Entebbe After breakfast, you will start your journey back to Entebbe. Accommodation: Airport Guest House Day 8: Transfer to the Airport Depending on your scheduled departure flight, you will be transferred to the airport. Tour ends on arrival at the airport.
